Description
The current backup server (hosted inside CERN) doesn't raise any alert when the backup process fails.
We must modify the server script to warn us (probably via email) when the server goes down.
This will be the next thing we do after we finish with the new theme/ companies plugin release.

I've started working on this issue yesterday, and made some advancements on the staging server.

The backup script has been re-engineered so that it detects errors. It also sends emails both when sucessfully finishing a daily backup and when detecting an error.
I'll send it to CERN now for installation on their servers.
