PPSi release 2014.07
added by Alessandro Rubini on 2014-08-03 11:47:21.083232
We released 2014.07, with the new arch-sim and a much better servo for non-wr slave operation.
This release is being used in wr-switch-sw version 4.0, to be released
in a few days,
after some stress-test with the exact commit we plan to release.
ppsi-v2013.11
added by Alessandro Rubini on 2013-11-09 11:10:20.561188
While we tagged releases 2013.08 and 2013.09 without a public news
item,
we are now proud to announce the release of ppsi-v2013.11, that is
going
to be used by default as PTP engine in the White Rabbit node.
Unfortunately, some issues remain, mainly in the servo code and fine
details about priorities when operatingin a mixed WR+nonWR network,
but
the code base is pretty stable and can be used in the White Rabbit
switch
as well. PPSi has been successfully run at the ISPCS plug-fest in
Lemgo,
Germany.
I thank Aurelio Colosimo, Maciej Lipinski, Grzegorz Daniluk and
Poul-Henning Kamp for help in coding, testing and reviewing the code.

PPSi tested for interoperability at ISPCS2013
added by Alessandro Rubini on 2013-10-04 10:43:16.873469
PPSi was tested on WR switches and SPECs
against a number of commercial/prototype devices from
different vendors. The results are very promising and a detailed
report can be found here: https://www.ohwr.org/project/ppsi/wikis/Documents/Report-from-the-PPSi-inter-operability-test
Thanks a kit to Maciej Lipinski for being at the plug fest and writing
the
detailed report.

PPTP is dead, long live PPSi
added by Alessandro Rubini on 2012-03-29 15:59:33.795240
The pptp name is already taken, and at least one our potential user
will run both our daemon and the other pptp in the same system. So
the project is renamed to "PTP Ported to Silicon"
