02-08-2011 VXS-DSP-FMC Carrier V1 Prototype fab. launched

Added by John Molendijk 10 months ago

The PCB layout of the VXS-DSP-FMC Carrier V1 prototype (EDMS: EDA-02281-V1.0) has been finished on July 21th 2011.
The layout process had been started march 18th 2011 but was initially found to be unroutable due to excessive real-estate usage.

The design has therefore been split in 2 parts such that the bulk of switch-mode regulators are now placed on the accompanying rear transition module: VXS-DSP-RTM (EDMS: EDA-02306-V1-0). Apart from these powersupply functions the VXS-DSP-RTM also offers 16 versatile general purpose logic inputs (programmable 50 Ohm or pull-up) that can be used to interface with the CTRV timing module (50 Ohm TTL out) or accomodate opto-coupled signals from another system. The VXS-DSP-RTM also offers 8 logic outputs capable of driving into a 50 Ohm load and furthermore one Power-cycle reset input that can be driven from an external floating contact.
This companion board is a standard VME 160 mm deep RTM. The VXS-DSP-RTM prototype has been received from the cabling office on the August 2nd 2011.
