Export WRPC status to user application
Some user-defined applications that make use of the WR PTP Core, would
need to know what is its status: is it synchronized, what is the board
temperature, how many frames were sent and received etc. Especially when
WRPC runs in the hosted system (i.e. WR node inside a computer running
Linux), user software daemons would like to read some diagnostics
information from WRPC and react if there are some problems.
For that reason we've added another set of wishbone registers (under
Wishbone base address 0x20800) providing all that information. There is
also a new tool in the wrpc-sw repository called wrpc-diags that can
be executed on a host to read this diagnostics over PCIe or VME bus.
Please check the WR PTP Core User's Manual for v4.1 release for instructions how to use the wrpc-diags tool as well as full register map of this diagnostics module.
