Project Description
The goal of the CernFIP project is to provide a radiation tolerant FPGA-based replacement for the MicroFIP chip, a WorldFIP agent.
This FPGA replacement is called https://www.ohwr.org/600
Here is an image of the nanoFIP chipset https://www.ohwr.org/607
- > nanoFIP is an Actel FPGA component implementing the WorldFIP protocol that can be used in field devices.
- > It is designed to be radiation tolerant by using different
single event upset mitigation techniques such as
Triple Module Redundancy and fail-safe state machines.
-> nanoFIP implements a minimal subset of the WorldFIP services.
- > The device is used in conjunction with a FielDrive
driver chip and FieldTR insulating transformer,
both available from the company ALSTOM.
