Frequently Asked Questions
Hardware
Q: How can I get one?
A: For the moment you need to order the components and solder it yourself starting from an existing general purpose PCB (Arduino prototype shield). If you would like to purchase a fully functional DCES product, please post a message on the mailing list we can consider third party board production if there is demand for it.
Q: Is there a users manual available?
A: Not yet, if you want to help write it, you are welcome.
Q: How do I connect DCES sensor to my PC?
A: You can connect it via USB: this is the Arduino interface that you
are getting, then depending on the Arduino model you chose, it can get a
different name. For example if you choose an Arduino mega 2560, the
device name should be
/dev/ttyACM0
.
Software
Q: Do you provide the code running on the Raspberry Pi2 delivering the measurements over the network?
A: No, this code is not published. It is simply a SNMP agent implemented in python sending traps when anomalies are detected and allowing any SNMP client to gather measurements. The real issue is that it is using a private MIB that is not registered for external usages. Do not hesitate to post on the mailing list if you are interested by this piece of software.
