Makefiles: fix bare builds under newer compilers · 35d1e583
      Alessandro Rubini authored
While building under ubuntu-12.04 (64 bits, at least), bare builds
were failing because of undefined "__stack_chk_fail" and "__strcpy_chk".

The former is fixed by passing -ffreestanding to the build of pp_printf
(i.e., we now export CFLAGS in the toplevel Makefile), amd the latter
is fixing by preventing use of the inline printf function when building
      for bare architectures.

This is from the manpage of gcc under ubuntu-12.04:

NOTE: In Ubuntu 8.10 and later versions, -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 is set
by default, and is activated when -O is set to 2 or higher. This
enables additional compile-time and run-time checks for several
libc functions. To disable, specify either -U_FORTIFY_SOURCE or
           -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=0.

Thanks Aurelio for reporting ./MAKEALL was failing.

      Makefile: include proto-standard/Makefile every time · 7055a3cc
      Alessandro Rubini authored
Since proto-standard is used to build a library that can provide
defaults for the extension, include its Makefile regardless. This has
no technical effect at all until we remove duplicated code (next
      commit).

This commit also makes some trivial and small changes in variable
assignements (the ones the user may want to change are now at the top
      of the file).

      proto-ext-whiterabbit development starting point · 71e13609
      Aurelio Colosimo authored
This commit simply copies everything from proto-standard to
proto-ext-whiterabbit. Actually, this is not an extension yet, since it is
quite hard to separate what is "modified" from what is "extended". So we
will have a separate directory for white rabbit, develop it as a separate
and independent plugin, and, a the end, split what is an extension of
      proto-standard.

Notice that, with the current commit, whiterabbit is set as default in the
Makefile, so that you do not need to make PROTO_EXT=whiterabbit, but simply
make. In order to compile proto-standard, just set empty PROTO_EXT:
      make PROTO_EXT=

WRMODE option can be set at compile time · a9dd7fff
      Aurelio Colosimo authored
The WRMODE option in Makefile acts as the -g option (run as slave only):
WRMODE=master -> auto detect, becomes master if no announce is received
WRMODE=slave -> never go to master mode, listens for announce and becomes slave

Rename PPTP to PPSi · 600a052f
      Alessandro Rubini authored
This is a major patch, because header files are renamed, and
the header directory with them. Still, no functional change is there.

      code fromt ptp-proposal version 56d97349 · 2801106b
      Aurelio Colosimo authored
code was pruned from specific "ptp-proposal" protocol and the
skeleton of IEEE-1588 states was made. Next step is to insert,
step by step, the structs defined in ptpd. Still something needs
to be removed or renamed, but this should be a fair starting point.
