- Using
SPEC+DIO
for acquisition of bunch-by-bunch data streams (continuous
40MSPS) from the LHC RF system and transverse damper via
gigabit serial links. To be used for long time-base
acquisition of the data for multiple concurrent users.
Future applications will include online processing of the
data using
GPUs.
The SPEC has been tested with links running up to 2.5Gbps
allowing multiple data streams multiplexed onto a single
link. (T.Levens, July 2014)
- ObsBox (Observation System), based on a server PC equipped with SPEC modules. The first use of the ObsBox will be the LHC Longitudinal Diagnostics, where the SPECS receive gigabit serial data across fibre-optic cables from a beam phase measurement module located in UX45. Installed in June 2015.
- OdsBox - observation box (CERN only)
