FAQ
Q: What's the differences between WRS-V3.4 and WRS-FL?
A: The WRS-FL is redesigned based on WRS-V3.4, the firmware and software
are compatible with WRS-V3.4. From user point of view, they are almost
identical. The main differences are coming from the following points:
1: Improved heat dissipation performance. Originally developed for
LHAASO project where the WRS-FL will be installed in dusty open field,
we modify the PCB placement and routing to reserve space for larger
heat-sink and establish a constructive contact with the mechanical
container thus avoid the usage of fans on the back panel.
2: Integrated low jitter
circuit that can
improve the timing performance and to evaluate different VCTCXOs.
3: Optical management port. In the situation of LHAASO project, the
management of all WR switches will ask for a separate cable network if
the RJ45 based management are used which cause additional installation
work and cost. We add an optical management port that works
simultaneously with the copper port, thus a multi-core optical cable can
provide both WR uplink and management link of the WR switch. This can
greatly ease the cable installation and expand the deployment distance.
