Frequently Asked Questions
Hardware
Q: Is there a users manual available?
A: Struck SIS provides test software and documentation on how to enable the status bits to be stored into the ADC datastream via their API.
Q: Is any additional software needed?
A: No, the board just acts as hardware interface, there is no coding involved, apart from calling the right functions in Struck's API.
Q: Does it take up two slots now?
A: Struck SIS1160 board together with the SFMC01 takes exactly one slot. The auxiliary PCI-L I/O add-on board takes a second slot, preferably just next to the SIS1160, but it does not use the PCI bus. Thus, it can be placed 'flying' in some other position if there are no PCI slots available, provided that the interconnect cable is long enough.
Q: Where can I get it?
A: It's not commercially available. You can download the (KiCAD 5.99) project files, export to Gerber, and send it to your preferred manufacturer. In eeschema, you can generate a bill of materials with links to the components, or just open the CSV file in the repository with libreoffice. Note that Struck SIS might already provide the interconnect cable and Molex connector when purchasing the SIS1160 carrier.
