ifplug and /etc/network/interfaces, config problem
message by Cesar:
Hi,
There was a problem yesterday with the switches that was driving Marcus
crazy.
If you connect the management port of the switch to the wr management
network
(this network uses in our case HP switches), and then unplug and plug,
the
switch is not anymore reachable. No way to ping the switch. Well, it
turned
out that there is a problem in the interfaces config of the switch.
According to ifplug 0.28:
"On Debian systems, any interfaces named in ifplugd's INTERFACES
environment
variable should not also be listed in an "auto" stanza in
/etc/network/interfaces."
We modified the interfaces files and it works like a charm. Please take
into the account for
the RC.
Cheers,
Cesar
